OOTD| Not quite smart, not quite casual

Dress: Glamorous via Asos
Jacket: Asda
Trainers: Nike via Office
Jewellery: Vintage gold
I have real issues with the dress code smart/casual.
What tends to happen (especially within my social circle) is that people gravitate towards the smarter end of the spectrum; with jeans and heels being the absolute limit on the casual end.
Well, being the little rebel that I am, I was intent on wearing trainers last night for drinks at a bar which would only apparently let you in if you followed the dress code. I tried on at least 7 different outfits before settling on this shirt-dress which adheres to the smart element of the code. Right?
I just wasn't feeling heels and my argument - if questioned - would have been that my trainers are actually wedges so there! *Sticks out tongue* Lol.
I think the red lips and updo distracted from the situation on my feet, although I didn't feel or look under-dressed and had a fabulous time.
So about the dress - It's one of the many purchases I made from ASOS at the beginning of the year. I completely forgot I even owned it till I ransacked my wardrobe. I will admit, I'm too damn old to be wearing dresses this short and will probably pair it with leggings or thick tights next time but I do love it, even more so dressed down with trainers.

I've had these trainers for over a year now and my love for them grows stronger and stronger with each wear. Yes the whole wedged trainer thing is probably so last year, but I'm not over it and have my eye on the Nike Liberty version.

And on a non-fashion related note, look at my arms. Seriously look. I've been working on my bingo wings at the gym and I'm starting to see a difference at bloody long last. I wish I could say the same about my stomach!

    1. You really should, they're so comfortable and can be dressed up or down. I've got my eye on another pair right now!
