Mummyness| Naila's 4 month update

While this post has been gathering dust and a mountain of cobwebs in my drafts, Naila has turned 5 months. However, the 4 month update is what I set out to do and that's what I'm going to do! Lol.
I'm not going to go into full gush mode, but she really is such a lovely baby and I'm excited to watch her grow and become her own person.
As you can see from the pics we decided to have her ears pierced. This is somewhat of a controversial and sore topic on some baby forums but it's something that we thought long and hard over and took every precaution possible. She was an absolute trooper when she had them done and didn't cry at all!

  • Weight
I'm ashamed to say it but I have no idea! *Bows head in shame* It's been ages since she was weighed last and I can only assume she is about 14lbs plus. She is significantly heavier than she was at 3 months and every health care professional that has seen her since her last weigh in has commented on the amount of progress she is making. So she's all good on the weight front.

  • Size
My little chunk-a-dunk as I like to call her, is now fitting into most of her 3-6 months clothes and I'm slowly getting rid of her 0-3 months items at long last! She has a crazy amount of clothes and it's nice to start dressing her up in pretty dresses and matching sets instead of just the sleepsuits she wore while she was still so tiny.

  • Personality & Loves
Naila is still a diva, however she is a lot more playful and smiley now and has started to laugh; as in proper deep belly chuckles. It is the cutest sound ever! She loves being held up in the air and swayed from side to side, dribbling on your face in the process. Her ears prick up and she beams brightly whenever she hears music or people singing, I won't be surprised if she turns out to be a mini Mariah with her growing love of all things musical. She also loves sitting up against me whilst watching her favourite programs which include Peppa Pig and Dora the Explorer.

  • Hates
I've been punched in the face a few times whilst attempting to clean her nose! She still hates it and I have bruises to prove it lol! Attempting to put her hair in any sort of style is also met with arm flinging and squealing, she prefers her beautiful head of curls left alone despite my many attempts to insert clips, bows or bands.

  • Feeding
The whole transition to solid food is going really well and her favourites are carrots and banana yoghurt. The mess that is made is ridiculous and I randomly find food lodged in the strangest parts of her body when it's bath time! She's now drinking 7oz of milk and she has up to 5 bottles a day which I'm pleased with. Naila actually stopped breastfeeding on her own a few weeks back. I don't think I was producing enough to satisfy her so she stopped altogether. It's nice to have my boobs back!

  • Sleeping
Finally, a routine has been established! She'll wake up around 8:30am and have a nap around 10:30am; wake again around 11:45am, having another nap around 2pm; wake at 3pm, doze off again around 5pm then goes to sleep for the night at 8:30pm. Life is so much easier now I know her routine and there are no more unnecessary tantrums as I'm starting to understand her needs better. RELIEF!

Naila's 5 month update will be up towards the end of the month so stay tuned!!!!
