Mummyness| Nathaniel

I still struggle to believe that my firstborn will be six years old in nine days! Where has the time gone? How did this happen?
I still remember the first moments I held him in my arms. He was tiny and fragile; I was scared I would break him.
Thinking back, I was a child myself. 21, just out of uni, unemployed and scared, but his little eyes reassured me that everything would be okay. Indeed they were.
He has taught me everything I know about motherhood despite the many trials and errors of his infancy. Together we've laughed, cried, screamed and plodded on.
I moan at him, pretty much all the time (I'm moany by nature) but he is ever so gracious and understanding. A delightful little human being.
Generous, kind, thoughtful, funny and inquisitive are some of the words that come to mind.
He is fiercely protective of his baby sister and looks at her with gentleness and genuine love in his eyes.
I only hope he knows how grateful I am to him for just being him.
