I don't think there has ever been a floral dress I haven't liked. I don't know what it is about flowery frocks, but I'm just a sucker for them. This New Look one was love at first sight. From the skater shape, to the bardot neckline, this dress couldn't be anymore me if it tried. It's such a flirty feminine number which I'm sure I'll be wearing to death over the summer - if we get some sun that is.

On the subject of Summer, I'm currently planning mine. Italy is hopefully on the cards and I intend to go to a festival or two. Wireless this year has a brilliant lineup and it's in home territory once again. This dress is in fact one of my festival options. Although I already planned to wear a playsuit, I'm starting to rethink this due to the toilet issues I am likely to encounter. I'll probably throw on an oversized denim jacket; accessorise with some vintage sunnies; add some cycling shorts underneath to avoid embarrassment when it decides to blow with the wind and I'll be good to go.

Dress: New Look
Boots: Office

On a slightly more personal note, I seem to have shaken that cloud that has been lurking above me since the beginning of the year. I'm feeling incredibly optimistic about the coming months and I am no longer insecure about my weight and all the other insignificant things I had been losing sleep over. I can't credit this new lease of life to anything in particular, although I will say I've been more in tune with my faith of late and that has totally overhauled my thinking.
I've definitely rediscovered that spring in my step!

OOTD| Old School

It's always the things that you love doing the most that get pushed aside for the things that you don't even want to do (but have to do because you're an adult and that's what being an adult is all about!) That's been the reason my beloved blog has been neglected these past few weeks. However, I'm hoping a little bit of organisation and planning ahead will lead to regular posting and more Lydiaisms!

Anywho, can we take a minute to rejoice in the revival of the A-line button down denim mini skirt (insert dancing emoji).
I remember having this skirt in a variety of colours and prints when I was in primary school. When I spotted this version in my local Primark I was overcome with a wave of nostalgia and had to have it! I guess that's what I love most about fashion, the fact that it always seems to be borrowing from the past.

The pointed lace up flats have been a popular feature amongst many fashion fanatics and despite my initial attempts at ignoring them, I couldn't resist seeing what all the fuss was about. They are honestly the chicest, yet simplest shoes ever. I opted for the New Look versions as the Primark ones felt too flimsy, although I think I might get them as back up just in case - God forbid - anything was to happen to them. Lol. I'm sure you can tell just how much I love them.

Another thing I'm loving at the moment is my mini bag. Bright green is not a colour I'm usually drawn to but there was something about this bag in particular that caught my eye. I love how it injects a bit of life into a monochrome outfit, adding a playful vibe to my look.

Top and Shoes: New Look
Skirt: Primark
Bag: Dorothy Perkins
Apart from the three or so days of sun, spring has been a little disappointing. I'm hoping the next few weeks will bring some much needed sunshine and warmth.
Roll on Summer!
