OOTD| Folklore

Dress: Boohoo.com | Sandals: Primark
Another day, another dress. I can hear your groans as I type! The thing is, trousers don't suit me. I'm weirdly curvaceous with narrowish boxy hips, chunkadelic calves and thighs and a tiny (well in comparison to the rest of me) waistline. Therefore trousers look stupid on me and don't fit properly! Even if that wasn't the case, I doubt I'd wear them much to be honest. Dresses are just my thing.
Although there is a slight floral situation going on on this dress, I wouldn't say it was particularly a 'me dress'.  The batwing sleeves and the fact that it's a smock make it quite the opposite of what I go for in a dress. But when I stumbled upon it on Boohoo.com, there was something about it that piqued my interest. And boy am I glad I bought it.
I feel like a character from European folklore. Very feminine and delicate yet brave and daring. A bit random, but hey, that's how I feel lol.
I'm desperate to wear this dress to a festival. It would have been perfect for Lovebox. If only I'd known.
I'm currently stuck in a hair rut. Natural hairstyles like fro-hawks and twist outs just don't suit me and sleek buns and up-dos just don't work on my unruly hair. I was close to texturising it the other day. I almost purchased the box but decided against it after considering all the time and effort that's gone into getting it to this healthy natural state. I guess two jumbo French plaits it is till I figure out what to do next.

xXx

  1. Looking lovely! Trousers don't suit me either.. especially not with skinny jeans being in fashoin! :( I've got lovely saddle thighs, even at my smallest they were still there! Sorry to sound stupid, what is texturising? xxx

    1. Thank you Hun! I'm glad I'm not the only one with trouser issues lol! Not stupid at all, texturising is a chemical treatment that softens the curls in Afro textured hair making it a bit more manageable but still leaves the curls in tact. I've decided against it though, the thought of putting chemicals close to my scalp scares me xxx
